Cape Cod Canal stripers
5 Attachment(s)
Hit the canal this weekend and man the way these fish fight with the help of the current is incredible. Started 5am and big bass were munching on mackerel for the first two hours. I could not get hit but my dad managed one at 39.5 inches, his personal best. Fished until noon without a touch. At high tide noticed some mackerel came in. I got two smaller fish 30" and 25"on a popper and my dad a short. Action slowed and we got lunch and took a nap in the car. Around 4pm we went back out. My dad hooks up to a tank of a fish. Took him down current and pulls out a 43". Finally I got a more sizable hit and it’s a nice 40", my pb. Got into more smaller fish with one hitting a popper just feet from shore and called it a day.
