Free Fishing Day
 

Tomorrow, Saturday June 10, is this year's first Free Fishing Day when no license is required to fish the freshwaters of New Jersey, and the day the HOFNOD Youth Fishing Challenge is held. For information on both, see the following pages on the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife website:

This is my first experience with this day, does it tend to be a pretty crowded day or is it just a typical Saturday?

A female park ranger came over to my fishing spot for the third time in a year on a free fishing day and asked to see my fishing license for the third time that year. This year a police sergeant came over to the same spot and asked to see my license even though I am 70 years old and don't need a fishing license anymore.
