The NJ hackettstown crew does an awesome job spawning these beautiful creatures, thanks for the photo's and insights. NJ has an excellent hatch rate % also.
I believe the small musky fry are the only species that requires live food ( fat head minnows) to eat when raising them to stocking size.

Ken, did they mention anything about Echo lake trapnets? I was there on Saturday and they were not set in their usual locations. I believe that photo is actually form echo nets in the past.

They feed the small muskies trout !!! (Gotta start 'em young)
All the Smallmouth eggs crashed, none hatched.

Yes The Birdman....... They are suppose to be setting up in Echo this week.

good stuff ken. it is neet to see how they raise giant green slime darts. i myself have no intrest in catching them .but it is great to see the guys and gals of the hatchery getting thier jobs done with all sorts of fish :cool,

Very cool stuff....thanks for posting! Did they say what happened to the small mouths or what impact that would have on stockings this year? Meaning is the stocking a one and done with the hatchery or are there other runs they'll try. If not, will they purchase fry from outside the state or does it mean stocking this year for small mouth won't happen?

2017 Broodstock SMB collection (hook n' line) @ Yards Creek Res. is taking place this week.
