Fish Monger 10-30-16 Linesided Catfish Trip

Well I was scheduled to fish with Captain Hank on 10-30 & to my surprise Captain Jerry was running the boat. Assembled my crew Dr. Evan, Philthy orr, Scooooter, Special guest Dave Tats! Poppa Vince & his cape may friends tommy, big tommy, The Southern legend jimmy Dixon & his brother scot were all aboard for there first monger adventure.

Left at 0630 to about 90000 boats leaving Manasquan inlet with us we went souf & found acres of bunker. snag n drop ensued & bass were dead this died when 1000000000000 boats decided to run over & or troll through the bunker so as promised to me we went bottom fishing with 7 dead bass in the boat.

Started fishing & had tons of action but the sea bass were 12-12.9999 so we were tossing fish back left & right with a few nice keepers in mix & some silver but then the dog pound came out. dozens of dogs chasing our hooked fish to the surface I was in heaven but it definitely hurt the sea bass & porgy bite. After Jerry bounced to about 57 spots for sea bass which were all covered in shorts & dogs but he kept trying! we did a drop for togs. was slow bite Evan had 2 nice keeps on the jig  Scooter had 2 keeps & cape may scot had a keeper. I had a short & rolled a nice bite glad to see I am in mid season form already!

After this Jerry said We had to go for stripers again :( we went north of our inlet now & there was so much bunker you could walk across them looked like animal planet the schools of bunkers. Bassing was stupid anywhere from 2-6 on at a time. we landed our other 7 unders for a boat limit & everyone played catch & release, we landed 21 for the day & probably had 35-40 bites/hookups lost.

Cape May guys said that in there 50 years of fishing they never saw a captain work like jerry did & cannot wait to sail again with monger & they were all envious of the striper fishing apparently some people actually want to catch these dumb things? John & Mike were great in helping us as we snagged & walked our baits/fish. Ended with our 14 catfish, 50 bottom fish, an eel, a robin & some fish n chips! Docked at 5:30 pm as captain Jerry gave us above & beyond a full day! Hopefully Captain Hank is back from vacation for my trip on the 12th as this Jerry guy loves stripers to much for me :p:p:p

Been promising my Cape May gang a monger trip for a while now and it was worth the wait. Big time striper bite in the morning followed by Sea bass fishing then blackfish and back to another striper crush. What a day . Special tanks to Capt Jerry for his non stop run and gun tactics. My Cape May bunch were quite impressed with the Skipper and boating a limit of big stripers and releasing others put us all we heaven. ( we love our stripers down south ) Once again thanks to Capt
Jerry , John and Mike for a great day .;)

No sir that is an insult to the intelligence & spirited fighting ability of the carp. Bass are gluttonous buckets that take 0 skill to hook they swallow the bait & then u reel in a bucket I used lightest rod I could in hopes they'd just break off with a treble hook buried in there bellys. Kill a striper save the sea
