RB Surf?

Thinking of giving Cliffwood Beach area a try next week, anyone have luck there in the fall before or should I just keep going straight out the the Atlantic to Sandy Hook?

I prefer the ocean since it has fish-able water all the time as for the bay, it only has fish-able water during high tide.

Was hoping you'd reply since you seem to be the surf fishing authority around here :D Thanks, yeah I experienced the low tide out there this spring and probably waded out over 100 yards and was standing in knee high water.

The bay was great this spring. I caught keeper bass all over in April-may and in 6ft of water.

But I generally fish the ocean in the fall. All the fish will be migrating any minute..... And the ocean surf often produces from now until sometimes xmas...

I may give Sunday's hard west wind a shot. I'll post.

I took a ride to the bay today and found a big spread of bass rolling in peanuts. They were tough to catch because of all the bait, but I managed a handful on poppers. Nothing big but good fun.
