Expired flares....

What do you all do with them? Have 4 expired an need to toss them.

Dont need them as backups as I have enough.

Just bit of info. If you get checked by the Coast Guard you have a 3 month grace period. Saved my butt last year. You can keep some in your car/truck but a few are enough
Not sure where to get rid of the excess.

I shoot them off in the backyard to amuse the kids, but then I live way out in the sticks.

Call, your closest West Marine store and ask if they still take them for disposal. They used to, don't know if they still do.

I keep the expired and backups. The very old ones I fire into the water if they fire at all

I guess you could donate them to a firehouse. They may be able to use them for training...Charlie

Check your local County Recycling Center for the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Options. My town schedules an Open House for residents to bring items like oil paints, pesticides, auto & marine flares, etc for proper disposal twice per year. You may find that they will accept walk-ins before the regularly scheduled dates.
