Nwk Watershed 4-28
 

Hey guys. Hit one of the NWK watershed lakes today. Nice day to be out. A little chilly and wet towards the end, but still nice to be on the water nevertheless(instead of being a work). Target species was LMB and we started our 10,000 cast towards a muskie. The day was pretty slow until about 1pm. One small pickerel followed by a smallie and another decent pickerel. The last fish of the afternoon ended up being the biggest (as my cousin JP was starting to get the Skunked blues). For a split second, we thought it might have been a small muskie as it flashed us right before it fought hard and it charged underneath the boat avoiding our net. We finally netted the fish and it was a NICE pickerel. 4-5lbs?? Whatever it was, it was F-ing awesome. We will definitely be back to continue on our 10k mission.

That's one heck of a pickerel. I usually hate catching picks, but would be very happy to boat something like that.

Nice slime dart love catching them on light gear it's an epic feeling :)

Used to fish echo lake all the time for pickerel with 10 in plastic worms caught several big ones like that.

I don't like the Newark Watershed because they are prejudiced against kayak fishermen. It's institutionalized racism against those without boats!

I'm trying to get a bunch of women to protest topless at the Newark Watershed Headquarters on our behalf. So far I haven't had any volunteers.

Lol! Sounds like your on the right track though. What better way to bring attention to your cause! :D

Nice fish guys!! I also stopped by the shed for a minute yesterday morning to add a season boating pass to my season fishing permit. Intended to fish as well but found the conditions to be a bit to windy and choppy so I hit plan b instead.
