Myrtle Beach fishing

Me and some friends will be heading to Myrtle Beach in the first weekend of September. There will be 3 or 4 of us. Anyone have any advice on what kind of fishing to do down there that time of year? Thanks.

You can also go north to Little River, SC for party boats there.

The Head Boat, New Inlet Princess, is more of a tourist type fishing experience. Unless they are making an extended Offshore trip, you would most likely be fishing for seabass on the 3 mile reef.
If they are doing an extended trip you have to make reservations, their office, located upstairs, next to the Wicked Tuna Restaurant, in the Crazy Sisters' Marina. Take a day, stop in and see what they have going on. Have lunch at Wicked Tuna, good food!

I haven't fished out of Little River in years, and when I did it was mostly on a private boat so I can't help you there.

Thanks for the advice, was looking for something more than a half day head boat, which is all I could seem to find on google so I figured I would ask here.

Try Capt. Steve Roff on Barrier Island Charters. I fished with him last fall, and had a great day with JUMBO red drum. He also does a lot of tarpon fishing. He runs a 20' cc, so 4 guys should be OK. He's a helluva nice guy, and knows his stuff.

My son Stephen works on the Voyager Fleet in North Myrtle Beach. PM me and I will give you his number. They do half day, 13 hour and 24 hours trips.
