Sunday J2

Did my 1 striper trip of the year and it was time to get back to wreck fishing.

Hit up the J2 with my buddy and headed 30+ miles off for the 12 hour marathon. Boat was rocking right out of the inlet and most of the day but that did not stop the fish from biting. Those who stayed on the rail were rewarded with a good bounty.

BIG scup, jumbo sea bass (not a lot of em), good amount of cod around the boat (including pool winner), winter flounder, and a few bluefish playing the tax man. Buddy and I ended up with 85+ good keeper size fish for the day. We left them biting for the 2 1/2 hour ride back.

If you do not want to do the overnight sea bass trip then this a great alternative and price is very good. Clam was bait of choice but some guys did have pink skirted hooks, saw no difference in their catch ratio than simple clam.

Harpoon, hit that boat this past week too, incredible fishing, couldn't keep the 2 and 3 pound porgies off the hook to get to the big Seabass. Did end up with a limit of both plus 2 nice Cod. Great operation there.
