Fixing frog lures
idk if anyone else has experienced this but my spro popping frogs legs got sticky and melded together...still not sure why, maybe I stored them wet not sure.
Anyway I fixed them pretty easily, figured I'd share. I cut the ruined leg tassels off and cut the frog body from one leg hole to the other. Then I took old spinner bait skirt and laid it across and through the holes. Used super glue to seal everything back together and then coated the glued slit with a protective layer of a flexible when dry clear glue. It seems pretty strong but we will see if it can survive catching some big fish (nothing caught on it yet). It's movement in the water and ability to compress don't seem changed at all. |
Re: Fixing frog lures
Chrisper,
Some companies are using a new type of soft plastic that actually reacts with other soft plastics causing them to "melt". Not sure if Spro is but I know ZMan Elaztech baits definitely do. If you put them with normal soft plastics they actually fuse together. |
Re: Fixing frog lures
a little while ago i put a post in the lures section about zman plastics and how not to put them with other lures because they do that haha.
