Oh what a beautiful morning

Finally had a day off without the wind blowing 25. Ran back to an area we had a few fish in a couple of weeks ago. First drift produced 2 solid keepers and some shorts. Once again ran the same line and came up empty.

Strong NW drift but were able to hold with 6. Slowly picked away thru the morning, ended up with 7 in the box between Ronnie, Larry and myself. All fish caught on bait rigs, Ask Larry what he caught on bucktails. He finally saw the light switched and boxed a keeper.

Bucktails produced shorts, skates., robins, seabass and bluefish. Fished 64 to 68 feet from Elberon to Deal. Water temp 71.6. Once we lost the drift it stopped. Back at the dock at noon.

As much as I like jigging up the flat ones, 'ya gotta go with what works. Better to be a bait dragger than a skunked hater :p especially when dragging bait (tipped with Gulp!) is working :) Hopefully September continues to produce as our season comes to an end in just 10 days . . .
