FISH TANK - Lobster Report 8/27
 

I couldn't take another day of being cooped up in the office and missing out on this beautiful weather, so I made a few calls and put together a 3 man crew for a last minute afternoon trip yesterday.

Brothers Rob and Phil along with their friend, Mike, met me at the dock just after 1pm and off we went. After getting a really good report from a friend that morning, I decided to make the long run to where he was catching em only to find that the wind crapped out and we had no conditions whatsoever. I think our fastest drift was a whopping 0.1kts!:( After landing a couple of shorts and skates, I decided to change things up and move onto plan B.

We broke out the clams and took the guys to a sea bass spot not far from where we were and these "endangered species" were stacked up. We had drop and reel fishing for a couple of hours with all fish safely released except for a few ling that were mixed in. Even though the guys didn't have big bags of meat to go home with, they had a great time enjoying a beautiful afternoon on the ocean.

We got back to the dock just after dark and headed over to Sunsets where Rob treated us to a lobster dinner and cocktails. Except for the crappy results on the fluke, I couldn't have asked for a better day with even better people!
