Which 9.9 to buy?

I having an older Envinrude 4-stroke 9.9 on my 16' deep V that has been acting up last few years and would like to replace it. My question is, which brand do you guys prefer, and 2-stroke or 4-stroke?

I generally use my boat for trolling at RV/MC/Spruce run, so I need a 9.9. Also, I have a side console, so I need controls. Any recommendations on dealers?

Thanks......

Tough to beat Yamaha, good product and wide dealer network for service. Honda and Tohatsu are also good motors, but limited dealer/service network.

The trouble with a smaller dealer/service network if you don't like your local dealer, another one may be very far away.

If you do your own service and price a big factor, can always mail order a Tohatsu, free shiping and no tax.

Also- regarding dealers, talk to Doug at Morris County Marine. Decent prices with good service.

BEST prices on OB"s are in Delaware and theres no sales tax besides the best price.

Worth it. I did once and would do it in a heart beat again

for a 9.9 you can find a great price anywhere online, and many ship free. depends on what you can do yourself and who to use. If your handy a 9.9 remote setup isnt bad, remember u need controls, cables, key harness, wire harness too, they add up and add in labor. If you need help feel free to PM me I do marine work as a side gig I can point u in right direction. And to second as said above Doug at morris county marine is a personal friend of mine and is very fair and honest. I can call him and let him know your a friend of the board here and to take care of you if you need it just let me know
