Transducer Q

I'm about to install a transducer on my 14' tracker jon boat. I was talking to a friend who has quite a bit of boat experience and he recommended that instead of drilling holes below the waterline I mount the transducer using marine quality glue/adhesive.

I'm running with a 6hp motor or electric trolling motor so we're not talking high end speed and performance so I think it should hold up at the maybe 10-15 mph max that I'm going. The idea of drilling holes below the waterline makes me nervous and this seems like a plausible option. Any thoughts?

On a side note I just bought a new SUV and need a trailer hitch installed. I'm in north NJ. Any recommendations on who does good work?

I'd glue it rather then drill holes.

Most drill. Agreed holes allow water. Allow rotted transom...

try it. If it fails... go to plan B

Is you jon boat trailered? Hours in the water will be fairly low if so.
