Never gone wrong with the RULE brand, both with the external float and internal versions

Make sure it's wired directly the the battery.

Do you guys have a seperate float switch. My rule 2 in 1 unit keeps sticking when the auto bilge kicks on.I did some research and it seems to happen often.

Yes, a seperate float switch this way if the switch goes bad all you have to do is replace it and not the entire pump. Most boats are also wired with a manual override switch at the helm. This does 2 things. You can manually turn the pump on if the switch happens to go bad and you can clear water out of your bildge if it's not enough water to trigger the float switch.

If you do decide to go the manual overide switch, it's good idea to get one with an indicator light on it so you don't forget to turn it off.... The light also goes on when the float activates the pump. This is a good safety precaution since you will always notice your pump going off. If it does so fairly often, you'll know you have and issue that needs looking into.

Re: bilge pump

I use only Rule pumps.

You know they do made a NON mechanical float switch to run the bilge pump?

I've used it for years on my 2500gph in my small boat that leaks alot. SO it gets a real work out on a relative large motor billge pump. EXCELLENT.

Highly recommended switch

Go with Rule and use seperate float switch. I installed Rule ones that have the float built in and also to automatic ones without a float, nothing but problems with them. They would come on and not shut off after a little use.
