Paramount Sunday
Went out with a fairly light crew for a weekend. It was a bit bouncy but fishable. Fishing was a pretty steady pick of ling with some cod, pollack and sea bass mixed in. Most people had 10 or 12 mixed fish. Ling ran the gamut from tiny to real logs. Rental rods did pretty much as well as the few regulars on board. The pool was a 17lb pollack.
I wound up with 2 sea bass and 16 ling because I was a real wreck magnet today. Regular Herb Dinger had a great day with a 10lb pollack, 2 sea bass, a 2lb lobster and 23 ling. Gray cod were fierce on the high hook, but all the cod and pollack came up high. So the question of the day is am I willing to catch 20 doggies to possibly catch a cod or pollack. I decided to stay low and had no cod, but only 3 doggies. Got accused of trying to steal a bucket of doggies when moving things around for the wash hose, a first for me. |

Tautog,
Always enjoy your honest posts. I like fishing the Paramount when the cold weather sets in and appreciate the good read you provide of their recent catches. I hope to get out again while some sea bass are still within range. You seem to get out with them quite regularly! Tight lines! |

Re: Paramount Sunday
Sea bass are pretty much gone after the Thanksgiving week noreaster. No one had more than 2 keepers and quite a few people had none. Right now it is mostly ling with a cod or pollack if you get a bit lucky. If you want sea bass, you need to be further offshore now.

Re: Paramount Sunday
Had a decent pick of sea bass today on the Marathon which allowed them to go further out. Any sea bass you get from now on inshore is a bonus.
