Need a favor from the "locals"

Myself and a friend want to get down this Sunday for some Seabass/Porgy/Trigger/Whatever/ fishing on a headboat, probably out of AH simply because its a little closer.. My problem is with the hurricane heading north, and unreliable "marine forecasts", I am apprehensive about driving a 9 hour round trip on a horrible day when boats won't be sailing, or the conditions will be so bad that fishing will be useless..
Its just a /distance/cost game for me . I can't get to the NJ shore very much because of the distance and expense, and would prefer at least somewhat reasonable fishing conditions on the days when I can get down...

I was hoping one or more of the members here that lives near the shore could keep me updated on whats happening in real time, as oppossed to the "forecasts".. I trust the locals more than some "weather person"..

I will make my final decision on saturday as to
whether or not I make the drive down, but would really appreciate some better info than what I can get on the net.. I will be eyeing the head boat reports here on saturday as well.. Hopefully we can get thhis weekend in for some bottom fishing.. Its been a lean year for me so far .I have not fished salt water since May, and that day it was 90% Congos, with a few skinny Ling, 1 sea bass, and I was blessed to be able to catch 2 flounder as well.. Hoping for a good shot at sea bass this time.. I would appreciate any observations from guys close to the shore.. PM is fine if posting here is inappropriate.. Thanking you all in advance... bob

Why not use real time data?

Many people on here trust Windguru as well.

Risk vs reward ratio doesn't seem to add up on this one though...especially with a 9 hour drive. They are thick and will be around for a while.

2 of the 3 NOAA buoys are working although a lot can change in the 5+ hours from when you decide to go and the time the boat leaves

Checking the wind is good, but might as well look at the water itself!

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/data/Foreca...US51.KPHI.html

This is the most specific site for where you are looking to fish. It is updated often. Its as reliable as any other weather forecast, which unfortunately isn't saying much. Its what I would look at if I was to give you a last minute update.

That's where I would go along with buoy 44065 data and three more forecasts, guru, noaa, and sailflow...
