Champlain
First of all, thanks for the tips/advice. You guys were right, the biggest bass of the trip was caught at night. In fact my 2 new pb bass 4 casts apart. Trip was great, killed smallies and lm. I only got one pike but it was a good one. I lost count of the bass on the first night. Total for the three days would be a very high number. Here are the two largemouth from the first night. They look like the same fish but were caught 4 casts apart. My previous pb was 5lb7oz. These were significantly larger, but unfortunately the batteries in my scale were dead. http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7eb0a0e2.jpg

That night we were fishing the western exit from the gut. A concrete structure that sits in like 2 feet of water the drops off to like 7-8. We were pulling red eye shads with the current off the drop off and getting crushed almost every cast. Smallmouth and largemouth. We were also getting them along the2 rock walls that form the inlet to the gut on wacky rigged senkos. Have to fish it at night tho. Too much boat traffic during the day. |
