Another morning on the big lake
 

Bit damp this morning, but headed out early anyway. Had to keep a friend occupied for the morning while his wife was setting up a surprise b-day party for him.

Had no love from the herring today, other than a couple crappie. After 3 hours of killing alewives and moving around, I decided to bring out the big guns and do some trolling.

Ran the outside lines on dipsy divers pulling walleye spoons, the inside lines with deep diving stick baits.

The spoons picked up 2 pickerel, a short walleye and this beauty of a wiper. Nothing on the stick baits.

My buddy was happy with his b-day present.

Gotta Just Love Them Hybrids, Had a fattie today too trolling with planner boards.
Weather ended out working out pretty well also.
Wish I could be wrong at work as much and still get paid like those weather people. LOL

Good looking fish buddy, way to do it. U shoulda been out sunday, was killer, they were everywhere, bait balls and marks on every spot. Nobody was out w the drizzle I saw 3 boats all morning, and around 9am they were bustin in the main lake 45fow, birds and all, even the state patrol boat pulled out a rod and hooked up. best day of the year by far, its been tuff all summer

I tried to sneak out Sunday morning, but got a dirty look from the missus. Since I was on the lake until 1:00pm on saturday, my chore list didn't get cut down. Sounds like it was a great day, let's just hope they continue.

Saturday was dead...no traffic on the lake, couldn't find the bait, was marking a few, but much less than usual. That's why I decided to switch to the trolling, you can cover a lot more water that way.
