Nice pike

Hit the water yesterday and tried something a little different and was rewarded with this nice 36.5" pike. It fought a lot better than I remember pike fighting. Fish was 25ft deep over 45ft. Also got a really nice catfish in the 7lb range..sorry no pic. Stripes are still going as well.

That's awesome. Fishing was pretty good there this weekend.
I wasn't expecting the fishing to be as good because of the cold front, but it didn't seem to matter this weekend.

If I may post a pic in your thread, here is one of my many happy customers C&R'ed this weekend:

Good stuff, Gary. It didn't happen to jump in the boat, did it? LOL! Was it near the area we had ours last weekend?

I know Dale was out this wknd, too.

I'm sorry if I said too much. I went back and edited my post.

On an unrelated note, I need to find a better way of keeping herring alive. Even in a flow-troll bucket in the water, if the sun is beating down on them, they still get too hot and expire.

aerated cooler... keeps the water pretty cool in the hot months... throwing some ice in once in a while helps, too.

No prob man..do what jigman said..we had the same problem a few years ago and switched to the cooler method and have not had a prob since. Buy a bubbler and a cooler..drill a hole and ur done :)
