Party Boat Angler Saturday Fluking

I started the day in the ocean and only had a few shorts and sand sharks. The swell is still there. We had good short action on the next drop Mike Cannataro from west Patterson landed a 6 pound fluke which lasted all day to take a very nice pool After that we picked away some shorts and Quality fluke ending the day with 25 keepers. Roger took the first keeper $1 pool and ended the day with 3 keepers as did Artie. Conditions were tough with a fast drift and bait was the best today. It was a nice day to be fluking but we could have used some more keepers.

Jeff fought and brought to the boat a big sturgeon that we released.

Sailing at 7:00 AM tomorrow

Thanks Captain George

That sturgeon was one hell of a fight... Almost spooled me on its first run.. Must have taken off an easy 125 yards of line.. We guessed it to be around 5 feet long and 100 pounds or more.. What a beast!! And on my jigging rod.. A Shimano Trevala with my Canyon spinning reel..

Had a great time today.. The sturgeon was icing on the cake.. Fish of a life time.. And of course mike and joey did a great job as always

Hey Jeff, did that sturgeon give any head shakes? Maybe ten minutes before you hooked into that thing, I hooked something that almost spooled me. Mine gave a couple head shakes and then took off, set full drag and it kept going. When I got down near the end of my line, I put some thumb pressure on and it popped of.

Congrats on bringing that monster to the boat. I need to learn to be more patient. Lost some big fish recently by being impatient.
