Spots safe for kids on the Raritan

I know some people don't want to spot burn some of their honey holes, but I was wondering where there are some areas along the Raritan off of 287 that would be safe for my kids to C&R trout. I looked on Google Earth but its hard to tell. Any help would be appreciated.

Duke island park is the most kid freindly by far....If they get bored fishing, hit the playground....It will be better for them when the river levels drop a bit...

Stay on 287 North up to the Far Hills area. There's a nice kid-friendly stretch of the North Branch behind the Bedminister police and public works complex. It's about 20 minutes north of the Somerville area. It's safe and accessible.

Billfish, is absolutely on point with this recommendation. The stream is narrow, a trail runs along the river down stream to AT&T Drive with bridges over the feeder streams. This is a great spot for kids!

I forgot to add there is a pond tucked in the woods not far from the river, if the trout on the river aren't biting, the sunfish in the pond will save your day!
