Opening Day! 1st trout in years
 

Started at Echo Lake(union county) at 8am. After 2 hours had 0 fish between me and my friend. Didn't have the room to move or comfortably cast. Went over to Nomahegan and our luck changed. Caught my 1st trout in years and ended the day with two more.

My friend caught a LMB(picture) it was good to see they are still in there after the dredging and everything. Then went the Rahway River and all we caught was Christmas tree star.

It was great spending 8 hours fishing and catching up with an old friend. All fish were caught on spinners and everyone we spoke to said the same.

It's a mixed bag, including the rare Christmas tree star. Nice color on the trout.

Definitely got me interested in trout fishing. Never had much success before but got some good advice to guys I was talking to all day. The next big challenge is learning to read/fish rivers.
