How thick is the ice this year???

Just wondering how thick it is. I'm hearing stories of 2 feet thick on some lakes but they may include snow pack on top. If that's true, it could be June before its all gone. Thanks!

12-20 inches of ice from rt 78 and north. Some south jersey spots still holding anywhere from 6-10 inches. Isn't it lovely? While your organizing tackle, myself and the diehards are out and about making it happen. No need to sit in the house. There are fish to be caught! YEA BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was at least 17-18" over by Barnes Bros on Lake H this morning. Thank god for friends with gas augers. My arm is still killing me from yesterday. Must have hand drilled 30+ holes on Cranberry and Aeroflex. Id bet there's fishable ice for at least 2-3 weekends. Epic year for sure.

I drove by Big Swartswood yesterday and there was open water in the channel between the main lake(south of Dove Is.) and the millpond. Must be a few springs in that area. A few other spring-fed smaller ponds had open water too. This is in Sussex county too. Ducks seem to enjoy it.

We need a few days in the 60s/70s to do any serious damage. Otherwise it will be a slooooow melt. I think lakes with streams flowing into them will melt faster since thats where the open water begins and migrates out from.

This time last year I was already catching bass on buzzbaits. What a difference a year makes.

16 inches on Fayson Lake in Morris County yesterday. Two inches of water on top of that in places.
