Went looking for stripers today and came around the hook but did not see much life

Went down the beach checking bird action and found short weakfish stacked up a mile off of Highlands Bridge - they were so thick we snagged them on our silver jigs

Went further down to the rocks and the fleet was huge including Brielle boats but did not see anything caught

Came back inside and saw a short striper caught under Highlands bridge

Crazy that we have all these weakfish around.... Usually by this time of year they've left our area... A very unusual fall so far.

We have pleanty of bait around now I think/hope it's just a matter of the water temps getting into the mid 50s and good body of fish coming our way.
