Monger mixed bag featuring linesided carp
 

Headed out with Captain Hank & Danny & a rowdy crew of myself, Dave & Tim Tats, Rick the OBGYN, Smooth Archie & Piney Vince. Knew the bottom bites been slow but we got faith in hank. headed out at 5:40am in the dark stopped on a few sea bass spots nada, went norf & saw some birds saw a lil cc being shady about themso we investigated.......GAME ON! 7 striped carp with 6 dying including a 24lb which I entered into the Jersey Hooker Tourney! Carp dried up hit sandy hook reef.........BARREN! a few pin sea bass & porgies but dead like scary dead. went inshore on some more bird play but nothing doing. Hank then ran souf into a big bird play here we mange 1 blue, 4 bite offs & Capt. Hack Jmurr broke off a bluefish that was every bit of 17lbs at the boat.

At this point Captain Hank made a call to former Monger Capt. Jerry for some #'s Jerry obliged & Hank took us inshore to the far western ledge of cockolla canyon. We drop down & get more bites minly lil seabass but then rick gets a blowfish! As he is reeling the puffer in he says there was something following this a lightbulb went off in my head & I knew it was triggers, I drop down 10 feet BAM! Big old trig! we put 13 in the boat & another puffer as well as a few more porgys & sea bass. I also lost 3 more bluefish on the jig as I am a super hack. Only landed 1 tog by my cousin Rick we tried crabs but not a sniff. Inshore fishing was not what it has been in years past have a feeling next week after the blow will be insane when sea bass is closed :( As always Hank & Danny were top notch & my cousin & Boss' were all raving about the amazing trip we had & couldn't believe Hank apoligized for the "slow" trip!

This guy from Maryland "Hank the Hack" worked his tail off to get us on some fish. While it wasn't a banner day by any means, everyone had a great time and went home (or to the melting pot) with nice bag of fillets. Danny was top notch as usual and even joined our stupid antics...it just took a while for his to kick in. LOL

Unfortunately no cast and blast....

Line of the day was Jmurr and describing the Italian Overbite dance. Think everyone got belly laughs out of that one.

Music mix was typical Katy Perry, Miley Cirus, Robin Thicke, Jay-z w. JT & Avichi on a constant loop. Looking forward to the Winter Mix on the new boat

I can just picture it.... Everyone else on the boat is scratching their heads and MURR is in his glory

I got so excited when we stopped on the birds at first i thought it was gonna be big yummy blues or maybe albies but all i got was a stupid 24lb bass :( . my cousin & Archie are kind of new to the game only havegone out a few times in the past & they said the captains didn't show the work ethic Hank has & they both could not believe we thought it was a slow day.My director fishes alot but out of deeep souf nj in cape may, he looked like a teenager getting to 2nd base when danny netted his 18lb bass lol I said sorry the fishing sucked he said 6 bass is a banner day then to add trggers us norf jersey guys are spoiled & he is right lol ya can become spoiled fishing with someone as top notch as Captain Hank & Krocodil Dan all the time & the fact the newbies i brought had such a great time is all that mattered to me! 3 more members to monger nation!
