Hudson Canyon Report 8/11-12
 

Overnighted in the Hudson with 40+ other boats. Trolled every nook and cranny in the afternoon with one Mahi for our efforts. Night chunking produced shark bite offs and no tuna bites. Morning trolling amongst the bigeye hopeful fleet was uneventful for us with a few boats hooked up. 9 1/2 hours trolling with no tuna bites was humbling enough for us so we headed for the barn at 9:30 am. We stopped at the AP intending to troll for a bit but Scotty on the XTC relayed that he had bites on sardines so we stopped, started jigging and chunking and within 5 minutes hooked up on a sardine. After a spirited run around the boat the crew landed a 49" Bluefin which put smiles back on the long faces. I owe you one Scotty.
