Blues in the surf????
 

any blues in the north/Sandy Hook yet? Thanks, Robbie

Havent caught a bluefish in that area since May 18. Seems that they have dissapeared from the bay and hook area. May get a lone straggler once in a while but I wouldnt count on it. Last sunday we saw schools of bunker very thick in that area with absolutely nothing on them. Not sure what happened but was looking forward to following the birds and jigging this spring but it just didnt happen for me.

The Belford guys are starting to get them. Saw them on ice in the fish market so I asked where those rare delicacies were taken, and was told "just slightly off Sandy Hook."

I think the only thing you can hope for in the surf right now is bluefish wise is snappers and best way to catch them is a small castmaster. Great way to entertain the kids but does not do much for someone who wants a bend in the rod.
