Hey guys,

Anyone else been out in the Newark Watershed recently? Finally got the itch to get out on the lakes so I picked up permits yesterday. Had the boat on Clinton around 4 thinking we, my brother and I, would try our luck at dusk.
To our surprise, no sign of life...not on the fishfinder, surface, deep..nowhere. I'd fished it from shore prior with mediocre results but this was really surprising. Guessing the water temp was just too high. The guy that gave us the permits, super nice, said that it would take some time to get to know the lakes and he wasn't kidding.

In any case, a beautiful sunset. We're going to hit a different lake up on Sunday. Hoping for better results...well I guess that's always the case--right!

I fished there on Tuesday and Wednesday- smallmouths, largemouths, and pickrel each day. ill send you a pm
