Trolling for Muskie?
On the Knee Deep Club website there's a recent video of a guy trolling for muskie
Does anyone know what sort of method this is? What lure / depth? It looks like he's dragging rods in the water. |
Re: Trolling for Muskie?
I started watching his videos and got the Muskie bug a few years ago, the guy made it look easy. I said to myself, heck, I can drag a bunch of lures around the lake and catch Muskies too. HA ! Did it 3 or 4 times and got 1 walleye. Plan on keeping log books, have great electronics, and plan on spending ALOT of time on the water. He posts a video, did it take him 2 or 3 weeks of fishing to get that fish ? Dunno.
I wish you luck, quit your job and get divorced to hone your skills and catch your Muskie outta there. Ask Catfishonthelake, you have to eat, sleep and WORK at catching those fish. All I can say is GOOD LUCK !! |
Re: Trolling for Muskie?
you troll with the tips in the water to keep surface weeds off your line and lures. Try trolling one day u will give up in 10 min LOL its that weedy and hard. Also controls depth cause if your lure runs 10' down and ur tip is 2 feet from the water ur lure is really runnin 8 feet down. Dante is the guy w all the muskie pics on the KDC website, hes in the little cream colored boston whaler every weekend. He often fishes (trolls)for hours every weekend both days for 1 muskie a month, sometimes 2. you do the math on how many hours and how hardcore these guys are.
