Fluke fishing

Planning on going out with my uncle on his boat which is located in Brick and my 15 year old on Friday. I normally fish Raritan Bay so I am not all that familiar with northern barnegat or the manasquan river. The big question is are we better trying those 2 spots or making the run to the red church and the rough stuff off of Long Branch. My uncle does not get out all that much and I thought I would ask rather than wasting time in areas that I am not familiar with. Thanks for any help that`s offered.

Depending on the conditions and the size of your uncles boat, if it were me I would run out of the Manasquan inlet and head to the sea girt reef, it's not as far as the red church. I have had great luck on the south east end of the reef. Then on your way back you can fish the Manasquan river. There are a few decent spots between the 35 bridge and the canal, try to drift the edge of the channel...Good luck

If the conditions allow I would head out to the ocean.
