Repowering 1999 Seaswirl Striper, 21'WA

Might need to repower my ride. The old and usually (until now) reliable Johnson may have sung her last song. Anyone here have any good experiences with any marinas for a repower (not necessarily a new engine, maybe a rebuilt).

Can't afford to spend a fortune. Looking for a 130 TO 175HP motor.

Appreciate any help you guys could offer.

What was the diagnosis on the engine- oil sender stop working?

No, still waiting for complete diagnosis. Barely spits. Changed t-stats/water pump. Won't drive water up through. Pulls in water but can send up. Mechanic thinks cooling system components are likely corroded and called work "possible major surgery". Motor has been great, but I'm not sure I want to sink a bunch of money into a 13-14 year old motor with a ton of hours on her.

So your saying if you pull out the exhaust "pisser" you can't hook up a washout fitting and get water to go through backwards either, that would say the lines are corroded or something nested in there, if you get water to come out it may just be the impeller possibly backwards or fins

Definitely corroded.

If it's just scaling or salt deposits in the cooling system components you might try this stuff http://www.rydlymemarine.com/
