Ling (Red Hake) recipes?
Hello all,
I was curious as to how all of you cook your ling. I caught some as a by-catch on a sea bass trip and have them frozen with those new ziploc vacuum freeze bags. (Great thing for us fishermen). And I would like to know if anyone had any ideas. Thanks so much! |

Try using Panko crumbs. A japanese breadcrumb. Wonderful. Very light and flaky.

Boil until meat cooks. (apx. 5 mins) Strain and flake apart the chunky pieces.
Then use the meat as a crabmeat substitute in a MD crabcake recipe!! Yum!!! |
Re: Ling (Red Hake) recipes?
Ling is in my opinion better than flounder or fluke in taste(not looks).I usually fry it, but it's great blackened or old salt style with lemon, butter white wine ect. I've heard people say its not good when frozen, but thats simply not true.
