Any open water NNJ?

Looking to get out in the kayaks today. Any open water around besides the rivers? Anyone know what Pompton Lake looks like?

RVR is open and in fact it never locked up this year due to the wind...can be a tough lake but if you put ur time in , its well worth it:) Good luck where ever you go:)

Skunk,

I know you said NNJ, I drove around scouting for a couple of spots, every body of water had Ice besides some rivers and streams. If you wanna travel south, I just spoke to my Parents (Exit 63) off the parkway. There are a few lakes down there that are Iced-Out, but it's a bit of a hike I know.

I'm gonna head out to catch some River Monsters tomorrow. Let me know if you're interested. It's going to be beautiful. If you call out of work I'm sure they will understand ;) Good luck!

Ended up doing a two car float from Two Bridges to Suchorsky Park above Little Falls and got the skunk. In spite of the high water, there were some good pools that I thought would hold fish....wrong! Wind was a nuisance but it beat sitting on the couch.
