Sunday Fishin How'd Ya Do
I tried SR and convinced Wilson to come along and boy was that a mistake. Not bringing Wilson (ha,ha) going out on SR. It was a complete white out you could not see anything, I had no idea where we were until I got the smart phone GPS going, I think Sunday the phone was smarter than me. Even with that it was hard to keep from going in circles, I had to look at the wake to keep going straight and then I still didn't know which way I was going until the GPS caught up, it was an adventure for sure. (got to throw a compass in the boat) As for the fishing, I wanted to try and jig binsky type lures deep and live line some shinners to see if I could come up with something ,Hybrid or a Pike. We got no love, but I have to thank Wilson for some good company on a bad day. Thanks Wilson:
What kind of days did the rest of you guys have? OK Andy: |
Re: Sunday Fishin How'd Ya Do
Sunday was not the day for me. Took my kayak to Monksville to jig for walleye. Visibility was about 20 feet when I got there and I think down to 10 feet when I left. I tried to get something but came up empty. Every time I heard a boat motor I had to paddle for the shoreline so I wouldn't get ran over. It was very interesting being out there and not being able to see anything. Pretty amazing amount of fog, thickest I've ever been out in. Weather was nice but, NO FISH!!!

WORK
But, I did spend sat afternoon sealing up some leaky rivets on the old J boat, gettin her ready for a paint job, lol. Then I cleaned all the rods and organized all the tackle. Sucks not to get out, but felt good gettin everything ready!!!! |
Re: Sunday Fishin How'd Ya Do
half the battle is getting up there! The key to the binsky is getting on the fish.. i wont even start to jig until i see some arches on the sonar.. but then again you got out, and im jealous of that lol..
Water level still super low? |
Re: Sunday Fishin How'd Ya Do
I caught 107 perch and crappies to 11" on small jigs in a Central NJ lake the past 5 days. Water temp ranged from 41 to 46. Guy next to me caught a 12" crappie. Another guy caught a bullhead. Yesterday was no good because there was a muddy flood and the water dropped to 41 degrees.

Sorry for the late response. I have been busy at work dealing with my company being sold to another company:eek:
Flatcreek was a most gracious host. He even supplied heat as well as lunch. The fishing was good the catching...well no so much. Thanks Phil for the boat ride, it was fun and exciting in the fog. |

The second pic really represents what it was like more than the first, it was an abyss. Thanks for the pics Wilson.
