Nice Day To Wet a Line 10/5
Got out for a few hours today. Started off by going to fins and furs. Well worth stoppin in for few things. Only prob was I burned a half hour of good fishing time talking to the the guy workin there, lol.
Stopped off at the shed for a while but decided to move on after only one dink smallie in an hour or so. Decided to hit the river on my way home. Water was up a bit, and movin, but I figured I'd give it a try. Within the first 15/20 minutes I hooked into a decent 25" pike. Got one pic of him in the water before he shook off. After that I got a nice thick 30" and what was prob my second biggest channel cat of the year. He was pullin like a beast!! Always nice to have some bend in the rod!!! http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...G/IMAG0060.jpg http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...G/IMAG0084.jpg http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...G/IMAG0097.jpg |

Nice fish! What did you catch the cat on?

The smaller pike and the cat came on weighed down shiners. Bigger pike came off a crankbait. Was kinda surprised to see the cat myself, especially the way he fought.

Nicer catch G! Did you ever eat 1 of those passaic channels yet? I know this has come up before. Just want to see how daring the Passaic river anglers are.

Nope he's still swimming. Gotta say, I would have to be in serious survival mode to eat out of there. I know, I know, it's gettin better all the time. But............ I would rather catch him again next year, BIGGER!! Here's another pic, the other made him look to skinny, lol.
