WTB: Spiral wrapped rod (that's Wanted to Buy :)

I always wanted to try one. Looking to pair it up with the LH Avet SX I just got from LAB. Anyone have a used Spiral ?. . . . Thx

How long and what weight class? I have about a dozen spirals and might be persuaded to let one go. All were custom built by Willie Rods in Hackensack who will convert any conventional rod to spiral wrap.

If youvare going to use a lefty reel make sure the transition guides are on the right.

Unless you are going to use a levelwind, then it doesnt matter. With the spiral wrap the line is going to pile up on the side of the spool where the transition guides are. If you have to level the line on the spool it is much easier to push the line with your thumb than to pull it across. By having the guides transition opposite the handle you will never have to pull the line across the spool.

Nice to see a rod builder with an open mind on spiral wraps--with accurate info also. Most of my rods transition to the right--but I only use levelwinds.

Many thanks Richie, John, Mike.

I will take up Richie on his kind offer to try out his Lefty SX on a Spiral that transitions to the right. I'll then know what I'm getting into before committing $$$. I'll update you after the trial . . . Thx & regards, Larry

I had Mike build me a spiral Super Tog....I liked it so much I had him build the next one(Super Fluker-btw-best bucktail rod I own or ever used).
Not for everyone but I happen to like it alot....I won't have every rod in the future built this way...just a few...:D

Good luck.
