How long and what weight class? I have about a dozen spirals and might be persuaded to let one go. All were custom built by Willie Rods in Hackensack who will convert any conventional rod to spiral wrap.

If youvare going to use a lefty reel make sure the transition guides are on the right.

Nice to see a rod builder with an open mind on spiral wraps--with accurate info also. Most of my rods transition to the right--but I only use levelwinds.

Many thanks Richie, John, Mike.
I will take up Richie on his kind offer to try out his Lefty SX on a Spiral that transitions to the right. I'll then know what I'm getting into before committing $$$. I'll update you after the trial . . . Thx & regards, Larry |

I had Mike build me a spiral Super Tog....I liked it so much I had him build the next one(Super Fluker-btw-best bucktail rod I own or ever used).
Not for everyone but I happen to like it alot....I won't have every rod in the future built this way...just a few...:D Good luck. |
