passaic river pike
dropped my son off at work this morning and figured I'd stop to see what the rain did to the river. water was muddy so I put on a chartreuse buzzbait. Sixth cast got a 28" pike with some meat on his bones. busy day at work today so I'm going back tonight to see if any of his big brothers are around.

Nice, glad to see the storm didn't turn them completely off. I will be on either the Passaic or Pompton this afternoon and see whats up. According to the USGS water tables, the water levels did not go up much at all.

Re: passaic river pike
I looked at the Passiac River this morning in Basking Ridge on my way to work. I can't see any difference in the water level. The banks were just a little muddier.
What I found interesting is the low water levels revealed that the bottom is full of crayfish. Thousands of them. Too bad the river is far too polluted to eat anything from, or else I'll be cookin' cajun tonight. |
Re: passaic river pike
didn't see much as far as water increase either, just churned things up a bit.

Re: passaic river pike
I don't know how things were up further north, but the storms that passed through my area didn't drop a whole lot of rain. It was mostly lightning and really angry-looking clouds.
