Anyone have any experience with the Yeti mega buck coolers?

Thinking of a small one for my crab boat. $259

While this video is not a scientific test, it maybe of some help.
The pricey coolers are maybe just a touch better then the less expensive ones.

I don't own a Yetti but know a few guys that do and they love them. They are built like tanks and hold ice for days on end.

I also have a yeti 250qt they are well worth the investment. just an idea for you i go salmon fishing evrey year and buy ice throw it in there and it actually does keep for seven days. only downside is u need two guys to move the big ones there heavy.

I had a 270 qt. For years , held ice for several days & built extremely well !
Like mentioned the big ones with ice get heavy, the smaller ones should last very long time .

I was surprised to see the coleman extreme outperform the yeti for keeping the ice!! I usually take those cheaper coolers, and drill holes in the lids to see if they are insulated at all. Many are not!! I then take a can of urethane expanding urethane foam and fill the lids with foam, makes them hold ice even longer!!

Knew they were built like tanks. Cost is I can buy 2 or 3 of the other lesser models for same price as one.

Ice keeping was a big factor. I did notice my roller Igloo top was hollow too. That spray in foam starts to expand when it hits the air. I was affraid to use that as it'll solidify only an few inches from the drilled hole. Then I have to drill lots of holes. :(

on ebay they have other brands of rotomoled coolers, i bought one from ebay called true blue coolers same as a yetti in design but cheaper price, i love it

I usually just drill two small holes on the inside of the lids, stick the straw from the spray foam all the way in and let er rip and slowly work the straw out the hole, that stuff will keep expanding inside, do the same on the other side, that foam will expand for quite a while and fill in all the nooks. It COULD over expand I guess, and do something to the lid, never had that happen though. I figure adding that foam can't hurt, just keep the hole so the straw fits in kinda snug, if any foam comes back out the hole, wait for it to dry and trim off. I have used a full can on a larger cooler to fill the lid. (That stuff is also great to use on a live bait to keep it on the surface when targeting king macs, a dab is all you need!)
