A good morning for pike
A fished this morning for a couple hours before the rain started and had great action. The first spot resulted in nothing, so I headed down river to spot #2 and hooked up with this one after a few casts.
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...n/IMGP0472.jpg After heading down river about another mile, I hit an area with plenty of weeds and landed a nice solid 38-40" inch fish, that of course decided to jump out of the kayak and my grip as the self timer was on 8 seconds ! http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...n/IMGP0475.jpg I landed another one about 18" in the weeds and then hooked and fought a real nice one, before it got caught up in the weeds and got off. A couple more hook ups after that, but none landed. Went to another spot and landed another one, close to 40 inches and again, getting ready to set the camera....out it went, with no picture. Total for the morning was 4 landed, 2 lost at the side of the kayak and a couple lost shortly after hooking up, and one bass about 2 lbs. With this rain, it looks like it will be a few days before I try again. Here is a nice picture I took on Sunday morning just after sunrise off of Deal, trying for stripers. I had 3 dolphins around me for 30 minutes. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...IMGP0463-1.jpg Danny V |

Re: A good morning for pike
Another great day. Amazing I've thrown spinner baits at the Passaic for hours At a time and never hooked up with a fish.. They obviously do REAL well for you though. Nice fish.
