Potential NJ State Record Carp,....
Just received a call from an angler who claimed that he caught a 55 lb. carp. It took him 22 minutes to land it.
As he didn't want to kill the fish, he asked if a State certified scale could be brought riverside to verify the new record weight. I told him that we coudn't do that,...& the cert. scale here @ the Lab only goes to 50 lbs. We have cert. scales @ our hatcheries that go over 50. As he didn't have the capability to transport it, alive, to a cert. scale, he said he was going take photos & release it. |
Re: Potential NJ State Record Carp,....
WOW, as long as the guy wasn't just a loon and was gernerally concerned about the life of the fish, I give him a lot of credit for going that root.

Sheesh. Everyone's a skeptic. Congrats to the angler for a great catch and for releasing the fish.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
For future reference: I do not believe there is a hospital in the state of NJ that would not have a certified scale in the morgue. |
