Carp Fishing Central Jersey

Hey guys,

I want to try and catch my first carp and I am doing some research. I am planning on trying Deal Lake in Spring Lake but was wondering if anyone knew any other good carp spots?

Thanks

Deal lake in deal has many jumbos that hang on the allenhursrt side between the new bridge on 71 corn dough w some strawberry jam works good and spring lake toward the westernmost bridge you can see them in the shallows, lake como has a fair share along with sylvan lake between Avon and Bradley those are not giants like the other lakes but is fun on light tackle

Ps a kayak puts you in a better location at deal cuz after you catch your carp you can paddlle off to some of those Lillie's in the back and clobber many other species I would bring some flatheads shiners and worms, all will help you have a full day of fun

Ok thanks! You got me excited now... Do you have a recipe for the corn dough with strawberry jam you can pm me?

What size hook (1 or 4) and how much dough on the hook (enough to cover the hook)?

THANKS!

Do you guys know if Deal lake is stocked with trout and if it is closed to fishing (or where I can find out?)?

Deal Lake is not stocked. Most bodies of water along the coast have carp, even small ponds and some streams. Used to fish one that goes from Franklin Lake down into the Shrewsbury. Never any carp much over 8lbs but catching 3-6lbers in an 8ft wide creek on 4lb ultralight is a lot of fun.
