ponds are ON FIRE
i went out on a pond near my house last night for a couple hours until dusk. water surface temp was easily in the mid sixties, if not for the wind, i would have considered a swim.
the fish were breaching the water all over the place. i tossed worms and my trusty panther martin. landed 9 shiners to 11", 5 pickerel to 19", 2 big pumpkinseeds to 8.5" and 5 crappies, 4 of which were over 12". there are largemouth in this pond too, i caught a 15" chunk on my 2nd to last outing, but didn't hook into bass last night. the weather was amazing, it was really a great way to spend a few hours. i can't wait to get out there for some more panfishing before trout opens up again. |
