water/fuel seperator
What is the procedure for checking for water in fuel. I have a 250 yamaha four stroke with about 40 hrs on it.
thanks. |
Re: water/fuel seperator
What filter?
Many O/B filters have a clear bowl that allows you to visually check. If its a canister type filter w/o a clear bowl, remove the filter and pour into a clear, clean container. You'll see right away if you have water and how much. |
Re: water/fuel seperator
What Duff said. And, some of the Racors with the clear plastic bottoms on the filter, actually have a plastic nut that can be unscrewed to drain any water that has collected in the bowl with out having to remove the filter or bowl. Just put a cup underneath to catch the fuel/water.
