walleye
 

ive always been interested in walleye fishing but never knew how to get myself started, im really just a bass guy when it comes to freshwater so when i tried walleye fishing i would just give up and go for bass because i had no idea what i was doing. ive been seeing reports of you guys going to munksville at night and it seems really cool.

can i get some pointers in where/and how to fish for them.
any help is much apprecated, thanks

The best pointer I can give you is to get out on the shallow coves on Hopatcong at night. Read the threads on here. There's a bunch of guys who do very well and they're not keeping what they're doing a secret.

There are some big ones in the Delaware river.
My guide Mike targets them in the fall.

It should be noted that Mike the guide (in the picture) is a giant guy. Like 6'6 225 or more lbs.! If I were holding that fish it would look even bigger:rolleyes:

Hopatcong, Swartswood, Monksville and the Delaware are great for walleye. If you really want to catch em say during the day, head up to swartswood with all kinds of jigs twisters finesses etc. rent one of there boats and jig in 10 to 15 feet of water. Or you can check the wind and drift live herring or worm harnessess about a foot off the bottom. Swartswood is a big walleye aquarium! Lots of rock ledges and cabbage to fish along the edges.:D
