Which Landing Net
 

I would like to find an "all around" inshore landing net. Thinking of rubber to avoid hooking net. Any thoughts on West Marine: ED CUMMINGS Salmon Catfish (hook Free) Net? Bow: 30 1/2" x 31 1/4" Handle: 56"x 92" Net Depth: 48". Not a bad price and specs looked decent.

The main ingredient in any good landing net is the overall handle length, quality of same, ,telescoping fine, bag size depth (depends on fishery ) & of course the rubber net product, saves mucho time unhooking lures etc.!
The one you mentioned sounds OK, if it's telesopic spray handle with lubricant once a week or so, in the salt, or else will corrode & freeze.

Im not too fond of those rubber nets they don't shape the fish well and have a better chance to jump out I would go for the old fashioned deep pocket wide brim collapsible net so you can grab the fish and those rubber nets make a lot more resistance in the water making it tough to scoop em up

I find the hooks get caught on the knots or pierce the twists on a regular net versus the rubber.

This season I've been fluking with a friend of mine on his small boat and he has introduced me to the most tangle free net ever invented.

Amazingly efficient and it never gets tangled with other crap on the boat.

Go to your tackle shop and look for this net called a gaff. Most places have them. Get one about 4-5' with a 2 1/2" hook.

For fish that might be marginal keeper sized just be a hero and lift them in the boat.
