When I was fishing the upper Delaware last year (Calicoon NY) we caught a number of Shad on spinners. Panther Martin all Gold.

My favorite color Shad spoon is one of yours:p

Blue spoons are the best. Blue is awesome.

Just kidding. That's a color I didn't see in your box. I like orange.

I went with the large darts for local fishing, you can really haul off with the bigger ones and the shad eat 'em just fine. I was using chartruse, a local guy said he uses all gold. I went with the darts for fishing off the bank, I know the spoons work great.

When I was herring fishing in the inlet, I was catching Shad on the Saboki rigs, at least I think they were shad, about 15-18 inches maybe, guy next to me said they were shad.
So I am wondering, any of you use sabukis for shad in the rivers?

Lower Delaware river use shabiki rigs and sweep instead of jigging.
Upper Delaware river use chart. top gold bottom spoons.
Later in the season right before the fish start to die, use all black spoons.

This is what I use when I'm not using my special trick to catch shad ( a few of you know that trick so remember secret;) )

Remember that these fish are not feeding, they seem to strike out of annoyance so make sure you have enough leader to put the spoon right in the face of fish you are marking.
