Re: Giants feeding on hand thrown bait
I once went for bluefins out of Cape Hatterrass in March of 1996. At that time there was no jigging but you trolled around until you either had a stike or came across a bait slick. Once you had either we'd toss out whole bunker behind the boat to get them in a frenzy. Once they started eatting you basically picked the fish you wanted to catch and toss your bait in front of it & hang on. My buddy and I brought 18 to the boat. I had 12 and he quit after 6. Estimates in weight ranged from 185-325. We kept the 185 and all others were tagged & released.

That video was 10 minutes of the SAME thing but I couldn't stop watching (with my jaw dropped).
Thanks for the post! I can't even imagine being in a school like that. |
Re: Giants feeding on hand thrown bait
i have pitched baits to fish before when they are feeding well but never had the camera on it. needless to say i will be watching this again. when they are so brazen to each a bait off the end of a gaff it really makes me wonder how they get lockjaw or line shy.
