Lower South Branch 6/9/25:

6/9/25: 67*F- spotty showers, overcast. OBS 2.41 ft. 0.07 kcfs @ Stanton Station. I was hot out of the gates at Hamden Rd with 4 stocked trout and 1 small SMB in the first hour, rolled a nice one also. I quickly fizzled shortly thereafter. Stopped by the Hamden Rd pumping station and wouldn't you know it, today they decided to clean the gates of all the mud and debris, I almost called it quits at that point. The water was gin clear so I figured the mud and what not would clear out quickly and it did, luckily. I hit a few spots and by passed many as I worked my way down river. Let me just say this warm weather bank beating is for the birds. All the bushwhacking, mosquitoes, ticks, poison ivy, you name. I can't wait to get a canoe again so I can sit my ass down and catch fish all day. The lower South Branch is a great float, not world class fishing by any stretch of the imagination but most days can put together a decent trip, mostly SMB during the warmer months. I can usually hold my own with the jigs but I left the Keitech's at home unfortunately. Picked up trash at just about every location, still waiting on dam removal. I hit the confluence and could have either gone back up the North Branch or continued down the main stem but I was beat from tearing up the Lehigh the day before.
