Re: Fish finder
I'm not a fisherman with an unlimited budget, don't know about you, but I'm running a Garmin Echomap UHD 94sv and it works for me, fishing out to 200'. Sidescan is pretty cool, I upgraded the charts to include Relief Shading, well worth it. One thing to keep in mind as well is if you want to now, or in the future, link it to an electric trolling motor, check compatibilities across brands, as my Minn Kota refuses to speak with my Garmin, not that I really need that but others might, I'm good with Point and Go and a handheld remote.

Re: Fish finder
Hard to beat Garmin stuff and they now own Navionics and their relief shading charts are great for locating structure. If you are going to want to do a split screen with chart plotter and fish finder, the minimum screen size you'd want is 7 inches.

Re: Fish finder
If you're fishing up to 80’, something with great clarity and target separation will make a big difference. The newer Lowrance Elite FS or HDS Live units are solid upgrades, especially paired with Active Imaging. Simrad GO series is also worth a look if you're open to switching brands. Good luck with the upgrade :)
